Today, the cabinet’s Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) will examine the Ramadan Package, which aims to deliver necessary items to the common man at reduced rates through Utilities Stores throughout the month.
The ECC will meet with Federal Minister of Finance Shaukat Tarin in the chair, and will discuss the Ministry of Industries’ report of the Ramadan Package, according to the agenda.
The committee is also expected to accept a report sent by the Ministry of Defense about the provision of a technical extra grant to the Pakistan Military Accounts Department for the conversion of pensioners to the Direct Credit System.
It will also consider a summary requesting a technical supplemental grant of Rs. 3.5 billion under the Knowledge Economy Initiative for the project “Pak University of Engineering and Emerging Technologies.” It will also take into account a brief sent by the Ministry of Economic Affairs on the G-20 Debt Services Suspension Initiative.
The meeting will also discuss requests for a letter of comfort and re-issuance of an existing bank guarantee in favour of Faysal Bank Limited (as “Agent/Investment Agent”) for a new Finance Agreement WRT Pipeline Infrastructure Development Project LNG-II, Re-Allocation of OGDCL’s Jhal Magsi Gas to Sui Southern Gas Company, and Allocation of Gas from Mari (Deep) Gas Reservoir to Sui Northern Gas Company for new Finance Agreement WRT Pipe
