Dr. Christian Turner, the British High Commissioner to Pakistan, paid a visit to the MG JW Automobile Pakistan (Pvt) Ltd assembly factory in Lahore on Thursday.
The High Commissioner talked with the company’s top personnel, saw MG’s state-of-the-art factory, and had the opportunity to test drive the all-electric Marvel R and HS PHEV.
Dr. Turner, who spoke at the occasion, said:
It’s a fantastic representation of the British automotive industry in Pakistan. The future is electric, and MG will reduce carbon emissions with electric vehicles, making Pakistan a cleaner and greener place.
Nong Rong, the Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, visited the facility in March 2021 and expressed similar thoughts. In Pakistan, MG Pakistan has delivered over 10,000 vehicles, opened seven dealerships with MG Care Centers, and introduced the newest SUVs.
Despite solely selling Completely Built-Up (CBU) imports, the firm has swiftly gained great appeal in Pakistan. On May 28, 2021, MG had its first locally assembled version line-off, and following successful testing and trials, the company is set to launch locally produced automobiles in Pakistan.
The company wants to include Pakistan into its global supply network and export MG automobiles all over the world. It said on the occasion that full-scale commercial manufacture of its automobiles will commence in Pakistan very soon.
