According to a report published by the Saudi Gazette on Wednesday, the Saudi government has decided to restart Aitekaf at the Grand Mosque in Makkah and the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah during Ramadan after a two-year hiatus.
Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais, the chairman of the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques, made the statement at an annual meeting to launch the presidency’s Ramazan strategy for this year.
He stated that the president will begin granting permissions through its official website in the near future. “They’ll be in accordance with specified requirements and standards,” Al-Sudais continued.
The presidency has previously developed an online platform to give worshipers planning to conduct Aitekaf with instructions and registration options.
