Benjamin Choi, a 17-year-old from Virginia, has created a robotic prosthetic limb that can be operated with the mind. Benjamin Choi printed different sections of the arm with his sister’s $75 3D printer and fishing line, then bolted them all together.
It interprets the user’s brain waves using an artificial intelligence (AI) algorithm. He had to perform 75 iterations of the design to make the arm sturdy and durable. Finally, the arm was constructed using engineering-grade materials capable of supporting up to four tones of weight.
