At Karachi, a ceremony was performed to welcome the Pakistan Navy’s indigenously designed and built Fast Attack Craft Missile FAC (M) PNS HAIBAT and third 16-ton Bollard Pull Tug PNT GOGA into service.
Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi, the Chief of Naval Staff, was the chief guest at the occasion.
According to the DGPR Navy, PNS HAIBAT is the first land mark project planned by Maritime Technologies Complex and built by KS&EW without any outside technical support.
The navy chief noted that the commissioning of PNS HAIBAT marks the beginning of a new chapter in indigenous design and construction that has grown over time.
PNS HAIBAT, he said, will boost Pakistan Navy’s capability to respond to marine threats, ensuring seaward defense and maintaining peace and stability in the Indian Ocean Region, in the context of the region’s broader security paradigm.
For the land mark achievement, the Chief of Naval Staff praised the coordinated efforts of KS&EW, MTC, and the Pakistan Navy.
