According to the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority’s (PTA) recent statement, broadband penetration in Pakistan has reached 52.02 percent, with 114 million customers, up 10 million in the past three months.
The Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunications (MoITT) established a target of 30 million broadband customers in 18 months. Between January and March, ten million new broadband customers were added. The number of broadband customers in the nation was 104 million in January 2022. In the following 15 months, the government hopes to add 20 million new customers.
According to PTA, internet use in Pakistan has surged in recent years, particularly following COVID-19.
The use of the internet in education, health, and other fields has also increased. Pakistan’s e-commerce landscape has grown dramatically in recent years. PTA is taking several steps to ensure the quality of service as usage and subscribers grow.
