Resident Evil, a Netflix original series starring Ahad Raza Mir, is scheduled to debut on the streaming service today. The actor, who has recently made headlines across the world, has now joined the cast of yet another international production.
The actor will appear in a supporting role in World on Fire Season 2 alongside stars of the original cast Lesley Manville as Robina, Jonah Hauer-King as Harry, Julia Brown as Lois, and Zofia Wichlacz as Kasia.
Additionally returning to the project are Blake Harrison as Stan, Eugénie Derouand as Henriette, Eryk Biedunkiewicz as Jan, and Cel Spellman as Joe.
As British troops struggle alongside Indian Sappers and Australian Diggers to adapt to a totally different form of fighting, World on Fire Season 2 will transport viewers from the streets of Britain to occupied France, Nazi Germany, and the sands of the North African desert.
The six new episodes, according to PBS, were written by the show’s creator Peter Bowker, Rachel Bennette, and Matt Jones. They tell the narrative of World War II through the eyes of regular individuals whose lives have been turned upside down.
The start of filming for World on Fire’s second season has been eagerly anticipated because of a specific pandemic, according to Bowker. It has been a wonderful pleasure to take up the story with our amazing cast, which consists of both long-time cast members and fresh newcomers who have embraced the scope and ambition of the programme.
“We are attempting to redress that balance with stories of struggle and camaraderie,” he continued, “since how the battle played out in North Africa is a fascinating and understudied aspect of history. We’ll keep reflecting the conflict’s global scope through our diverse cast. Season 2 is currently being filmed in Northern Ireland. In spring 2020, World on Fire Season 1 premiered.
