In the current year, two relatively small cities in Pakistan topped the list of locations where the most merchants registered with the world’s largest e-commerce company, Amazon, according to the most recent research by Marketplace Pulse, placing the nation in third place for the registration of new sellers.
A New York-based e-commerce intelligence company called Marketplace Pulse gathers information on some of the major online retailers, including Amazon, eBay, Etsy, Walmart, Wish, and other marketplaces.
A current dataset of millions of Amazon marketplace sellers is kept up to date by the company.
According to research by Marketplace Pulse, one of the top nations in the world for new sellers is Pakistan. With thousands of new sellers between them, Sahiwal and Mian Channu are setting the pace.
Juozas Kaziuknas, the creator of the research company Marketplace Pulse, reports that more than 4,000 Pakistani sellers have signed up to sell on Amazon.com so far this year.
The two Punjabi cities of Sahiwal and Mian Channu have contributed the most registrations, followed by Karachi, Pakistan’s commercial capital, and other significant urban areas.
Sahiwal currently has the most sellers on the list of cities, he continued, which is arranged by number of dealers. According to him, registrations have been increasing month over month (over 1,000 so far in June), and by the end of 2022, he anticipates that tens of thousands of Pakistani vendors will be registered with Amazon.
He said that Pakistan’s inclusion on the list of nations whose products can be sold on Amazon validated the demand for Pakistani exports on a global scale.
Now, Khushnood said, “we have to see how many people can export their items to Amazon warehouses throughout the world and how rapidly they can sell the things.”
“Registered users on the Amazon network can expect cross-border commerce and merchandise to leave Pakistan. At the present, shipping is too expensive.
He said it was important to reduce the transportation costs small exporters had to pay, and that this could be done by “giving them tax benefits etc.”
Pakistan has the biggest Amazon seller groups in the entire world, according Marketplace Pulse.
Among these are “eCommerce by Enablers,” which has over 1.2 million members, “Extreme Commerce by Sunny Ali,” which has over 1.1 million, and “Ecommerce Success Pakistan,” which has just under 200,000 followers.
Before Pakistani sellers were formally permitted to sell on Amazon, these organisations existed for many years.
