The US dollar gained an additional Rs0.96 in interbank trading on Friday as it moved closer to the psychological level of Rs250.
The rupee lost another 0.41% of its value, according to figures issued by the State Bank of Pakistan on Friday night, the final trading day of the week.
It dropped from Rs235.88 to Rs236.84, losing about Rs0.96 in value.
The dollar continued to act as per black market standards on the open currency market, exceeding Rs242.
The value of the US dollar increased by Rs18, continuing a streak of eleven straight days of gains.
