QUETTA: The Metrological Center Quetta stated on Friday that thunderstorms with scattered heavy rain are likely in northeast Balochistan, posing a risk of flooding in the catchment regions.
According to the weather forecast for the next 24 hours, “heavy downpour is expected in Sherani, Zhob, Musakhel, Qila Saifullah, Loralai, Duki, Barkhan, Kohlu, Bolan, and its adjacent districts during the evening.”
Dusty/dust-increasing winds are also forecast in the province’s central and southern regions. Heavy rains could cause flooding in Northeast Balochistan’s catchment areas.
Dusty winds have started blowing in the Pak-Iran and Pak-Afghan border areas since the advent of this system from June 17 to June 20. The PDMA has issued a notice to the Deputy Commissioners of the districts affected by the planned system.
During the rains, the PDMA asked the Deputy Commissioners of the affected districts to keep the necessary manpower on hand. Flood warnings have also been issued by the PDMA for Lower Balochistan, Takhte-e-Salman, and the Harnai Range.
