In Punjab’s Muridke, a poor laborer died in shock after reading his energy bill of Rs41,000 for 82 units consumed last month.
Following the PML-N-led federal government’s recent hike in fuel, electricity, and gas prices, inflation is at an all-time high.
According to the details, a laborer named Maqsood, a father of two children, was given a bill for Rs41,000 for 82 units, which proved fatal to him.
According to the deceased laborer’s family, Maqsood went to the WAPDA office to amend his bill but was told there was nothing that could be done and that the amount was fixed and he had to pay.
The laborer died in shock after failing to have his excessive electricity bill rectified.
According to the deceased’s family, Maqsood was living in a three-marla house and was supporting his family by owning a small shop.
The family of the deceased laborer has asked Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to look into the case.
