Engineer Farkhand Iqbal, Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), has issued instructions to the engineering and finance personnel to produce a PC-1 for the total refurbishment of Faisal Mosque.
Yesterday, during a meeting at CDA Headquarters, the directive was issued.
Faisal Mosque has not been renovated in almost four decades, and its parking lots and facilities are in need of repair. The maintenance money it receives from the federal government falls short of the amount required for its overall upkeep.
As a result, the CDA has determined that this is a landmark for Pakistan and has set aside Rs. 200 million from its own budget for its rehabilitation. In addition, a separate directorate will be established with a full team for horticulture, maintenance, electrical, and civil works.
In addition, the mosque will be illuminated and solarized, and the Municipal Administration Directorate will be given orders that no parking fees or licences will be issued inside the area in order to protect its purity and natural beauty (DMA). Instead, parking will be provided for free.
