On Thursday, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) decided not to pursue the money laundering case against Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Hamza Shahbaz, and others any further.
According to the details, the court has entered the FIA prosecution team’s petition into the record.
In his written verdict, the special judge central stated that the FIA special prosecutor had filed a plea to drop the case.
Despite the agency’s judgement, the court has chosen to continue the trial and has ordered PM Shehbaz Sharif, CM Hamza Shahbaz, and other defendants to appear in court on May 14.
Both PML-N leaders must appear at the next indictment hearing, according to the order.
The FIA had filed a challan against Shehbaz and Hamza in a special court in December 2021 for their alleged participation in money laundering in the sugar scam case.
