The Finance Division approved funding Rs. 6 billion to 27 Public Sector Development Projects (PSDP) under the Federal Education and Professional Training (FEPT) Division in the fiscal year 2022-23 budget.
Twenty-five of these projects are still in the works, and two additional ones have been accepted for funding. A total of Rs. 5.85 billion will be allocated to 25 ongoing projects, while Rs. 149.33 million will be allocated to new projects.
Rs. 150.74 million has been earmarked for the awarding of scholarships to 1,600 brilliant students from Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, according to the Budget FY2022-23 document (IIOJK).
This project was approved on May 6, 2019 at a total cost of Rs. 2.05 billion. The project has received a total of Rs. 888.21 million in funding thus far. To complete the project, Rs. 1.16 billion of the total permitted cost is required. The Finance Division, on the other hand, has only allocated Rs. 150.74 million to the project for FY2022-23.
Additionally, Rs. 106.31 million has been set aside to establish the National Curriculum Council (NCC). This project was approved on June 2, 2021, for a total cost of Rs. 720.82 million.
The project has received a total of Rs. 234.74 million in funding thus far. Out of the overall permitted cost, the project still requires Rs. 486.07 million to be finished. However, for the fiscal year 2022-23, the Finance Division has only allocated Rs. 106.31 million to the project.
