The management of the Kashmir Premier League (KPL) has decided to invite former Indian captain Virat Kohli to the franchise’s forthcoming second season.
In a video message published by the KPL’s media, league president Arif Malik stated that Kohli will receive a formal invitation to participate in KPL 2 in Muzaffarabad, Azad Kashmir, from August 1 to 14.
“We have decided to offer Virat Kohli an official invitation to participate in KPL 2. It’s a message of peace from our side; whether he accepts it or not is up to him “In a video message, Malik remarked.
“We are also willing to accommodate additional Indian players. We believe that sports are the only way to bring the two countries closer together “he added.
When asked about the plans for the second edition of the KPL, Malik stated that it will be bigger and better than the first. “Like the first season, the second season will provide cricket entertainment for eager fans,” he stated.
“I understand the scenario wasn’t perfect last season,” he said, “but things will improve with time.”
