On Thursday, the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) approved an increase in the price of electricity by Rs7.90 per unit.
The increase was implemented as part of the fuel adjustment costs (FAC) for the month of June in response to a request by CPPAG for a Rs7.96 per unit increase.
The electricity regulating authority made its conclusion after hearing Central Power Purchasing Agency’s (CCPA’s) argument today. The sum will be paid in July’s invoices. Both K-Electric and Life Consumers are immune from the tariff increase.
After K-Electric requested an increase in power tariff of Rs11.34 per unit on July 4th, the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) increased the cost of electricity for K-Electric customers by Rs9.66 per unit.
The request was made at the hearing for May fuel adjustment fees held by the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority.
