Students may be given free travel cards for Lahore’s Orange Line Metro Train (OLMT) by the Punjab Mass Transit Authority (PMA).The PMA has sent a summary to Punjab’s caretaker Chief Minister, Sardar Usman Buzdar, who is expected to accept it this week.
According to the facts, PMA recommended distributing OLMT travel passes to 200,000 students, who will be able to commute to and from educational institutes without paying money.
The PMA has also ordered that the administrations of all schools and colleges in the province capital provide information about enrolled pupils.
In October 2020, the OLMT, Pakistan’s most modern mass transport system to date, was opened. It has a total length of 27 kilometers, with 26 stations and terminals at Ali Town and Dera Gujran.
The first anniversary of OLMT was in October of 2021. Over 20 million passengers were served by OLMT in just one year. Furthermore, OLMT has employed 2,000 residents of the area.
