Throughout the first ten months of the fiscal year 2021–2022, Pakistan Exports made the US $2,197.787 million by offering various information technology (IT) services in other nations.
According to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), this represents a gain of 29.29 percent over the US $1,699.860 million received from the provision of services during the comparable period of the fiscal year 2020–21. The export of computer services increased by 30.77% between July and April of 2021–2022 from the US $1,343.550 million in the previous fiscal year to the US $1,756.957 million this year. Software consulting services saw a 48.43 percent increase in exports from the US $443.478 million to the US $658.239 million, while hardware consulting services saw a 337.72 percent increase from the US $0.456 million to the US $1.996 million.
While exports of repair and maintenance services increased to $1.249 million from $0.464 million, they also increased by 41.42 percent, from the US $331.730 million to the US $469.133 million. Additionally, the exports of other computer services rose from $567.422 million to $626.340 million, a 10.38 percent gain. In the meantime, from $3.240 million to $4.520 million, the export of information technology services climbed by 39.51 percent over the period under consideration.
The exports of news agency services rose by 68.56 percent among information services, from the US $1.765 million to the US $2.975 million, while the exports of other information services rose by 4.75 percent, from the US $1.475 million to the US $1.545 million. The data showed that during the year under review, the export of telecommunication services increased by 23.58 percent, rising from US $353.070 million to the US $436.310 million. According to PBS data, the export of call center services, which increased from the US $124.255 million to the US $177.658 million during the period under review, increased by 42.98 percent, while the export of other telecommunication services increased by 13.04 percent, from the US $228.815 million to the US $258.652 million.
