Despite the Covid-19 pandemic, Pakistani cotton experts are optimistic about the growth of the local cotton-related business and yarn export to China and other areas of the world, which is expanding every year.
China imported more than $168 million worth of cotton yarn from Pakistan in the first three months of this year, according to data from the General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China (GACC).
In the first quarter of 2022, sales of uncombed single cotton yarn containing 85 percent or more exceeded $133 million.
The export of cotton yarn (commodity code 52051100) from Pakistan to China reached $33.30 million, up from $34.06 million the previous year during the same period. China received $1.50 million worth of uncombed cabled cotton yarn.
