The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has agreed to Sri Lanka Cricket’s plea to cancel the ODI portion of Pakistan’s planned visit to Sri Lanka in July. The ICC ODI World Cup Super League included the three-match ODI series.
On the tour, Pakistan and Sri Lanka were supposed to play three ODIs and two Test matches, however just two Test matches would be played presently. The two Asian countries last played each other in a white-ball series in Pakistan in 2019.
Pakistan has a busy calendar this year, having just completed a full-fledged series against Australia at home, winning the ODI leg 2-1 while Australia won the Test and T20I series 1-0.
Pakistan will host the West Indies for a three-match ODI series in June and will compete in the Asia Cup in Sri Lanka commencing in September. Before the World Cup, the Men in Green will play seven T20I matches against England at home.
In the next months, Babar XI will compete in two mega-events in Australia and India, as well as a bilateral series versus Afghanistan, the Netherlands, and New Zealand.
