Pir Hamid Ali Kheshgi, a well-known artist from the Kheshgi region of Nowshera, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Nowshera, recently gained international attention when an Italy-based organization chose his art piece for an international group exhibition in a watercolor painting contest.
In an interview with the media, the artist revealed that an Italy-based art organization chose one of his pieces for the third time for a group exhibition featuring paintings by eminent artists from around the world.
This is not the first time Ali has brought such honor to the country, but it is his third opportunity to represent Pakistan internationally with his paintings, and he has also won several local and international awards.
“The art organization chose my piece in 2017, then again in 2019, and recently chose another for the third time in a watercolor painting contest.” “It’s a great global recognition for me, and I believe that by doing so, our cultural diversity will reach out to world art fans,” he said.
Pir Hamid Ali Kheshgi is currently an assistant professor of art at Abdul Wali Khan University in Mardan, and he has received 15 awards and commendation certificates from national and international art organizations. Ali pursued his passion by graduating in fine arts and earning a degree in animation from the National College of Arts.
Regarding the selection, Ali believes that this is a fantastic opportunity for him to promote KPK’s culture and tourist attractions on a global scale through his work.
Ali also discussed his participation in an online competition hosted by the IWS (International Watercolor Society), which highlighted his work among art lovers worldwide, earning him a spot in the exhibition.
