KARACHI – On Monday, Saudi Arabia introduced a new program for Pakistani skilled employees that will initially support five different occupations. Pakistan has become the first nation to benefit from the skill verification program since its start.
Over 2.5 million Pakistani nationals currently reside in the kingdom, making them a significant source of remittances to the South Asian nation.
Twelve examination sites will be established across Pakistan as part of the program to hold written and practical tests for qualified professionals, who must pass the test before submitting an application for a work visa in Saudi Arabia.
The kingdom has initially chosen five professions: auto electrician, plumbing, welding, refrigeration/air conditioning, and. According to reports, these five also include 160 additional categories for individuals looking to immigrate to Saudi Arabia on a work visa. In order to administer tests, test centers have been built in eight different cities.
According to a Saudi official, the kingdom chose Pakistan as the program’s first recipient due to its close links to that nation.
