During a news conference, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi stated that the previous PTI government was only producing 18,000 megawatts (MW), when the current demand is between 23,000 and 24,000 MW. He stated that the current government had expanded production to 21,000 MW and was working hard to meet demand.
He also chastised the previous government for failing to sign any new LNG contracts and for failing to replace inefficient plants during its tenure.
