PSMC, Pakistan Suzuki Motor Company, has announced a significant price increase for its popular automobiles. PSMC has raised prices for the third time this year, not to be beaten by its Japanese competitors.
The most recent price increase is between Rs. 40,000 to Rs. 129,000.

The price increases are the result of increased raw material and transportation prices, a weakening local currency, and a Federal Excise Duty (FED) rate hike for domestically produced automobiles with engines up to 1300cc. The latest round of price rises is in full swing, which means more raises are on the way.
