On Tuesday, a five-person US delegation led by Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee met with Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa and expressed sympathy for Pakistan’s flood-affected citizens.
The discussion covered topics of mutual interest, the state of regional security, and bilateral collaboration in several domains, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The US team conveyed their sorrow over the destruction brought on by the latest floods in Pakistan and extended their heartfelt sympathies to the flood victims’ families. In this time of need, they promised the people of Pakistan US assistance.
The US officials, however, expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s efforts to maintain regional peace and promised to do their part to improve collaboration with Pakistan on many levels.
The COAS expressed his appreciation for US aid and reaffirmed the necessity of help from Pakistan’s international allies for the rescue and rehabilitation of flood victims.
