The World Bank has pledged its continued support for the implementation of its programmed and economic reforms in the country.
The agreement was reached during a meeting in Islamabad between Hartwig Schafer, World Bank Regional Vice President for South Asia, and Dr. Mohammad Jahanzeb Khan, Deputy Chairman Planning Commission.
They reviewed the country’s development priorities and support for Pakistan’s ambitious reform programmed on economic growth strategy, according to a statement released in Islamabad.
During the discussion, Hartwig Schafer praised the Planning Commission’s efforts in numerous sectors, including agriculture and gender equality.
The group was briefed by the Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission on developments in different sectors, including energy, climate change, education, health, agriculture, and others.
Dr. Mohammad Jahanzeb asked the World Bank to continue to assist Pakistan’s government in implementing the projects.
