Xiaomi is planning to release more gaming phones in the near future, following the Poco F4 GT. The Black Shark 5 series was officially launched in China two months ago, and it will hit the global market on June 8th.
The Black Shark 5 and 5 Pro will be available in Malaysia first, followed by other markets. The news was confirmed by Black Shark Malaysia, and the launch would be live-streamed on its official social media pages on TikTok and Facebook.
The global variant is expected to have the same specifications as the Chinese counterparts. The Snapdragon 870 will power the Black Shark 5, while the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 will power the Pro variant. Both phones will feature 144Hz AMOLED displays with 1080p resolution, HDR10+ support, and 1 bit colors, among other features.
The Black Shark 5 will have a 64-megapixel main camera, an 8-megapixel ultrawide sensor, and a 5-megapixel tele macro lens, while the Black Shark 5 Pro will have a 108-megapixel main sensor, a 13-megapixel ultrawide sensor, and the same 5-megapixel tele macro lens.
Both phones will have the same battery characteristics, which include a 4650 mAh power cell with 120W fast charging capabilities.
The global variants will have slightly different pricing, but we should expect a range of $400 – $600 for the two models.
